IFS Parts Work: Responding to Authoritarianism

This workshop, led by Lisa Ferguson, is part of an ongoing monthly series of experiential workshops connecting parts work with world events.

This month we’ll focus on responding to authoritarianism.

We’ll begin with an inner exploration of our parts as they relate to power: parts caught in dynamics of domination or “power over”, repression or exiling, or oppress/resist.

Through welcoming internal power dynamics of parts from the perspective of Self (compassionate curiosity) we can begin to unwind internal oppressions, giving us more energy to engage with others in healthy expressions of power with rather than power over.

At heart, parts work is a dignifying, loving, respectful approach. By engaging in this manner internally, we become even more powerful agents of mutual flourishing, able to respond to authoritarian tactics with greater calm, courage and creativity.

In this workshop, we will:

  • Get familiar with inner power dynamics and relationships between parts

  • Work with a particular internal dynamic of parts to access Self Energy

  • Explore Self-Leadership in a context of rising authoritarianism

This workshop will be highly interactive and deeply transformative, providing you with skills and tools that you can apply both personally and professionally. This is why this workshop will not be recorded.

Part of an ongoing series connecting parts work with world events, you are welcome to attend any workshop. Familiarity with parts work is not necessary, but it may be helpful to know some of the basic principles.
